概要

本作における通常戦闘曲。曲名の意味は「大量破壊」という物騒なタイトル。
当時において非常に革新的であった、クラブナンバーのようなボーカル入りの戦闘曲であり、
Lotus JuiceのCOOLなラップと川村ゆみの伸びやかなスキャットが組み合わさったボーカルが非常に印象的で、
「ﾍﾞｲﾍﾞﾍﾞｲﾍﾞﾍﾞｲﾍﾞﾍﾞｲﾍﾞ…」という特徴的なイントロも含めて、多くのプレイヤーに強烈なインパクトを与えた。

今までのペルソナシリーズどころかRPG全体から見ても革新的な通常戦闘曲であったので、
当時は通称「ベイベベイベ」と呼ばれ、様々な意味で注目を集めていった。
結果としてボーカル入り戦闘曲はシリーズの新機軸の音楽として受け入れられ、
続編の「Reach Out To The Truth」をはじめとした、その後のシリーズのスタンダードとなった。

バトル曲としてはリズムがじっくりであるように感じるかもしれない本曲だが、本作の戦闘は中々難易度が高く、
常に考えながらコマンドを選ぶ必要のある戦略性の高いものである（適当にやると雑魚戦でも苦戦、最悪全滅する）ため、
このくらいのスピード＋じっくりとリズムを刻む曲調がコマンド式の戦闘システムにピッタリハマっていると言える。

後日談である『ペルソナ3フェス』においても「Mass Destruction -P3fes version-」が使用され、
こちらはイントロ、ギターリフ、歌詞（ラップ）にそれぞれ新しくアレンジが加えられたものとなっている。

そして、2024年発売の『ペルソナ3 リロード』でも、『Mass Destruction -Reload-』が通常戦闘曲の1つとして使用された。
ボーカルは高橋あず美、ラップはペルソナ3、フェスに続き、Lotus Juiceが担当している。

代名詞となる「ベイベベイベ」をはじめ原曲に近いアレンジながら、2コーラス目には新規ラップが追加され、ペルソナ3を踏襲しつつ『Reload』の名に相応しい新しい風を感じるサウンドに仕上がっている。

余談となるが、今作リロードではナンバリングタイトルの『ペルソナ5 ザ・ロイヤル』や『ペルソナ4（ザ・ゴールデン）』と同じく、敵との接触時の状況で戦闘曲が変わる仕様となっており、本曲は先制攻撃を行えない通常または劣勢時に流れるため、プレイヤーによっては「大量破壊される曲」という印象を受けるかもしれない。
